Our Policies
Appointments
We want to be the best part of your day! Our goal is to create a fun, positive, welcoming environment that you look forward to visiting.
We know that parents work and children attend school and that all our patients have busy, sometimes hectic, schedules. We’ll do our best to assure that your work schedule and your children’s studies are interrupted as little as possible. However, please understand that we cannot avoid some school-time and work-time appointments.
Because one of our top priorities is to value both you and your time, we feel it’s important that parents and patients understand our appointment scheduling methods. We work hard to provide the best orthodontic care at the most convenient time possible. We have families, children and busy schedules, too, so we understand your scheduling concerns. We’ll do everything we can to make sure that your or your child’s treatment goes smoothly.
To be fair to everyone, we alternate appointments during school months. We’ll do our best to work around classes that are very important or ones in which your child is having problems. We’ll provide school excuses for scheduled appointments, and it’s very important that your child turn these in to the appropriate school official.
Regular Appointments
Your appointment to place your braces, or expanders, etc., will usually take one to two hours. You will then visit us every 8-10 weeks for adjustments, which usually take only 15-30 minutes.
To be fair to all our patients, we see patients by appointment only. We understand that emergencies happen and that appointments will sometimes have to be missed or that something can make you late for an appointment. Please try not to be late. The specific appointment time that is scheduled for you is the amount of time necessary to complete your adjustments. If you’re late, we may not have enough time, requiring rescheduling. If you discover that you’ll have to miss your appointment, please give us 48 hours notice so that we can give your time to another patient. But try not to be late for your appointment and cancel an appointment only if you absolutely must.
A missed or cancelled appointment must be rescheduled, which can be difficult because patients schedule appointments 8-10 weeks in advance, and our schedule is often filled. Missing a scheduled appointment will delay your treatment and lengthen your treatment time. Your orthodontic success depends on your cooperation and commitment to following our instructions and staying on schedule with your treatment.
Scheduling
To best accommodate the scheduling needs of our patients, we have developed a five-day rotating schedule. As a new patient, you can choose an afternoon appointment or an early morning appointment, and we provide different days for these each week for convenience. Our goal is to deliver the best orthodontic care possible with timing that’s convenient for you. Our effort, after all, is to best serve you.
