The following are some common problems that Dr. Ingraham can treat.
Crossbite – The upper teeth close inside the lower teeth, which may damage teeth and cause misaligned jaw growth.
Crowding – This occurs when there is not enough room in the jaws for all the teeth to erupt properly. Crowding can usually be corrected by expansion of the jaws, avoiding tooth extractions.
Dental Midline Mismatch – The midlines of the teeth don’t match up properly, often causing jaw problems and dental malfunction. This is usually caused by a back bite that does not fit or match.
Openbite – The upper and lower front teeth do not meet when biting down. Chewing may be affected by this condition, which can be caused by thumb sucking or tongue thrusting.
Overbite – The upper front teeth extend out over the lower front teeth. The lower front teeth can bite down into the roof of the mouth.
Protrusion – The upper front teeth extend too far forward, or the lower front teeth don’t extend far enough forward. Both appearance and bite function are affected by this condition.
Spacing – Spacing problems may be due to missing teeth, or they may be only cosmetic.
Underbite – The lower jaw extends out past the upper, causing the lower front teeth to bite down in front of the upper front teeth.
Upper Front Teeth Protrusion – The upper front teeth extend too far forward, or the lower front teeth don’t extend far enough forward. Appearance and function are affected by this type of bite, and upper front teeth are especially susceptible to damage.
